Then I'll roll a 12-sided die to get the appropriate entry. That'll be our winner.
Right. Very clever! So then, as it stands now, in order to make my "saving throw" to win I need an 8 on the first roll (20 sided die) and then a 5 on the second roll (10 sided die as of now, since there are ten posts per page). You also mentioned streaming the event live. Do you think you will still be able to do that? Just curious.

Make sure to let us know if you do go "live". Some of us may have to figure how to get there, making sure there are no technical difficulties and all so we don't miss it! Put it in all caps---IMPORTANT - I get that!

I say you do it old school: one slip of paper for each entrant. Put 'em in a bowl and broadcast the draw live.

Make sure you are in the original "The Great Proof Giveaway" thread. If you need help with that just say so.

You will need to have the address of your intro. I did this by opening another window of my intro and coping the address from the address bar. (highlight address in bar, rt. click, copy)

Type a line or few words into "The Great Proof Giveaway" reply box, highlight it, click on the button along the top of the reply box that looks like a globe with one chain link. Paste your intro address in the little window that comes up. That should be it.

Good Luck. Don't forget to finish your reply with what you thought about the series, post it, and hopefully it will come out ok.

Don't freak out. You still have a week to do this. And if I can figure it out and do it, there is hope for everyone.

    Thanks

Thank you so much for the advice. I've entered the contest and will also take your advice on the next Hugh Howey book to read.

I also received a "Thank you for posting! Your post will not be visible until a moderator has approved it for posting." message. Do I need to do anything to make sure its posted on time? Is the issue posting a link in the reply box instead of the link?

Yeah, Hugh pointed out to me the issue with the "moderated threads/posts" crap. I'll go muck around in the admin panel and see if I can figure it out. It looks like many of the posts that contain links are getting sent to moderation.

    Hi,

Just found this thread and sorry for my double post (I tried in Firefox and then in IE thinking it might be one of the add-ons). No luck.

    John

ps: I found the "Why does a mod have to approve my post?" 1st but LisaKW's mailbox must be VERY full!

pps: I deleted my dupe post.
