I don't think there's anything in the settings (at least I haven't found anything yet) that does that, but if you go into a thread with new messages, there's a link right at the top of the thread that says View First Unread Message. Or something to that effect. Or what Mr. Ection said!

The main reason why I have not installed a spoiler code is simply because out of all the ones that exist, none seem to play nice with mobile themes or devices. If there is one out there that works across the full spectrum of browsers\themes, and Hugh doesn't care, I would be more than happy to install it.

Ah, that might be it. Thanks!

ETA: Is BBCode compatible with vBulletin? The [spoiler]text hidden in box[/spoiler] function seems to work fine for mobile devices on forums with BBCode, from what I can tell, but I'm unsure if it's compatible with vBulletin.

There really isn't a specific BBCODE for the spoiler tag, at least not like there is for bold, italics, etc. The Spoiler BBCODE is written by others and there are a handful of them out there. Some are basic (but won't work in the recent comments type widgets) while others are more advanced (and require javascript). How about I just pick the most popular one and install it then see how it goes? Because I agree, a spoiler tag would be a beneficial addition to this type of forum.

Sounds good to me. I'm calling it BBCode because it's in the standard set on Zetaboards, which is where my forum's hosted. I just assumed it was available as an add-on code within that set, if that makes sense, but wasn't sure what vBulletin used (since I'm too cheap to buy vBulletin software ).

I guess we don't even really NEED one... as long as we make sure to say SPOILER ALERT before posting spoilers haha

But IMO, any old spoiler mod will do... even the way Reddit does spoilers... it's black on black and you have to select it to see the text haha.

I know there's a spoiler plug-in for vBulletin--let me ask Hugh and Chris if maybe it's something we can get loaded here.

Must all threads and posts require admin approval?
ETA: I noticed this did not, but when I attempted to make a post over the weekend, it said it needed approval, for which it never got... Additionally, a response made to a preexisting thread also needed approval. Neither have posted, yet... (both to the WOOL subforum).

Normally, no. The spam filter felt you may be a spammer so it put your post in the approval queue. I have clue why it figures some posts are spam or not (it's not just urls it is checking) but it could be anything from your username, your IP address, etc etc.

However, after a member has posted a certain number of times (10 I think) then the spam filter ignores that user.

The reason why your stuff sat there for so long is because I don't think anyone has checked that queue until just know (apparent by some actual spam sitting in there and another user's post). Sorry about that.
