I think Anna Torv would be an awesome Jules. Just watch Fringe and you will understand.
I was thinking as well that Jeff Bridges would be great as Marnes. Thoughts?.
I've seen Jewel Staite apart from Firefly, and she does well with non-flighty, too. I'm not familiar with Anna Torv. I've haven't gotten around to watching Fringe yet. Jeff Bridges is a good choice for Marnes. He's a great actor.

I did read that Ridley Scott has bought the movie rights. As I read WOOL I kept thinking this should be made into a movie, but who to play the main characters? I don't know about Juliette, I had in my mind that she is about 23 years old? Can't remember if her age is mentioned in the book, can anyone clarify this.
Mayor Jahns - Glen Close, Kathy Bates are two straight off the top of my head. Not sure about Meryl Streep, although the more I think about it I find myself picturing her as that character.
Marnes - Somebody else suggested Jeff Bridges, yes, I think perhaps he would make a good Marnes.

So difficult sometimes to thinks of actors who would fit the bill. Feel free to add your thoughts and ideas.
Can't wait for the movie adaptation, but methinks I could be dissapointed with actors/screenplay.

Jules I think is in mid to early 30's, Lukas is about 10 years younger, 25 or 26?. Cant find the reference but this popped in my head for some reason.
Found it, Jules is thirty six and Lukas is twenty five.

John Billingsley for Bernard/ ... Thats who I saw while reading the book anyway. Not sure if he can act the part however.
The sheriff from The Walking Dead for Holsten... I am not a huge fan of his acting (He looks the part however) but it would be a short part and surely he can pull off depressed/not saying much for a few minutes movie time.
John Hawkes/ as Marnes... He is only 53 or 54 but I think with some gray hair he could pull it. He also has a magnificent mustache.
