    Do I need moderators?

Anyone hanging out around here that wishes they were a moderator? Not sure if that allows you to create new forums and what-not, or delete posts, but I'm open to giving someone the ability. It remains to be seen how much chatter will take place here. Just nice that it exists in case things pick up.

I also have plans to add features and make it prettier (like add a WOOL banner). Still in the middle of the Florida move and the NYC trip, so all is still chaos...

I was going to suggest mods earlier . Most forums have a few people around with some limited privileges for killing spam etc. Your forum doesn't seem to attract trolls, so that isn't an issue

I don't know what a moderator does. I thought Lisa was a moderator, though.

There's a few of us having conversations, but it seems not everyone from the old forum is here yet.

I'm happy to help out with moderations, including dealing with spammers, etc. I run another forum elsewhere and have quite a bit of experience with that sort of thing.

However, I wasn't on your old forum, so am new. If having a new person with responsibility here would make anyone uncomfortable, I understand.

ETA: I don't have a lot of experience with vBulletin software, but I'm a fast learner and have experience with other forum software. Anyway, if you need help, I'm happy to do whatever.

Spam should be handled now. I have installed the same Spam detector we use on another forum for years. Not to say some might not slip by, but this one is the best spam detector for vBulletin

I would also like to add, so that I do not look like such an arrogant bastard with the only member using an avatar, that in your Settings, you can set an avatar for your posts. This is not the same as your profile picture that people see when they click your profile.

It appears this function is not yet enabled for members (unless I'm missing something?). Here's what the screen looks like:

ETA: And thanks for setting up the anti-spammer stuff.

Well that is the dumbest default setting I have seen in awhile. Thanks for pointing that out. The feature is now enabled.

    Excellent! Thanks so much.

*snerk* I love the Spam-O-Matic. That is awesome.
