Hugh figured out almost immediately that the corn dog box might not contain corn dogs (Charla, why do you have so many corn dog boxes lying around?). My corn dog box was in the freezer for an hour.

While this has been an uplifting and inspirational event, it also has been a wee bit humbling.

    1. We eat alot of corn dogs because it is easy and I am too lazy to cook. (We eat alot of frozen pizza too, but I can't see any use for the empty boxes.)
    2. I like the way that the box opens up, and save them just in case --
    3. I also save shoe boxes, ramen noodle flats, icing containers. Makes good, cheap storage - it's the teacher in me. (or maybe the horder!)
    4. Boxes like this may come in handy if you need to mail something to someone.

See, this is my happy mess. It is hidden in a closet in my office and I don't clean it, I just close the door!

I also thought it was funny that he knew that the box may not contain corn dogs and tore through the side immediately.

No worries on the King Cake, CFA. One year for my birthday (coming up this month), my husband had a King Cake shipped up from Louisiana. I shared it with my coworkers.

I didn't get the baby Jesus.

My daughter and I tried to make one for a French project. We couldn't eat it because it was hard like rocks! I sent it with her to school anyway. Hey, she needed a grade---I think students may have used it to pelt each other!

    CFA - Hilarious!

Her son was trying to talk to her when we were on the phone. She responded to him and referred to me as "Miss Lisa," which is such a Louisiana thing that I almost started bawling from homesickness.

We do that where I live too. All grown-up women are "Miss Firstname" and often their husbands are "Mister Firstname," except for one really close friend of mine who is "Aunt Firstname." But there's only one of those. We don't have an "Uncle Firstname."

    I call my in-laws Miss J___ and Mister T___.

    .

I love potatoes! But we have them here too! Did you have a great birthday, yesterday?

Lisa, your hubby sent me a FB message to thank me for making you so happy with the surprise. That was very thoughtful of him. And I really wanted to hit my son with a stick because he was interrupting our phone call!!

Tink, I think the Miss thing is a southern thing. Kids here call me Miss Arabie (teacher) or Miss Charla (my kid's friends). They all call my husband Mr. Eric. Isn't that something?!
