Hi! Guess I'm behind in my reading. I just stumbled across someone talking about WOOL on facebook and I was looking for something different to read. I'm not usually a fan of sci fi but I have fallen in love with WOOL and can't wait to read more!

ok...I am a book worm. My favorite author is Stephen King. I live in Arkansas with my hubby and two kids. My daughter is 10 and she is also a book worm as well. I am debating if she is old enough to enjoy this series. What do you think?
*bows down to Arkansas* (that's where my husband was born)
I love Stephen King, too!
WOOL deals with some very mature issues (and uses some very "mature" language). You (the momma) know best if she's old enough to enjoy it, but I can't imagine giving it to her to read without daily conversations about it.
If you think she is reading beyond her years, you may want to start her out on the Molly Fyde series.
I read the Hunger Games series and passed it on to both of my kids. I really enjoyed sitting around the table and discussing the stories and what we each got out of it. I truly think she would enjoy the WOOL series and we would DEFINITELY have some in depth conversations about it that I look forward to. I plan on checking out the Molly Fyde series as well as Hugh's other works. I'm always looking for things to share with my daughter. I'll let you know how it goes!
Hi, Christina! Welcome to the boards.
If your daughter was ok reading the Hunger Games, then I think she'd be fine with Wool. Especially if you have a habit of discussing the material with her!
Hi Christina, These ladies know what they are talking about and my hat is off to you for raising kids you like to read! Welcome.
Welcome, Christina! Do let us know how it goes if you decide to give W.O.O.L. to your 10-year-old! I have 8- and 10-year-old readers, too, but I'm holding off. The older one read the Hunger Games and really liked it, but I'm not sure she'd understand W.O.O.L. I think it's written for a more mature audience than Hunger Games, despite the difficult subject matter of both.
