    what now?

So I think I'm done reading all of Hugh's books. What's next? Do any of you know of any good dystopian book series? I'm asking in Hugh's forum in the hopes that some of you know any authors with a similar style to his

Also... Hugh, need any pre-readers for I, Zomie?

I recently read Ashfall, by Mike Mullin. It's a YA, but not annoying about it, if you know what I mean. It's good story, very well written. The "event" is the eruption of the super volcano at Yellowstone. This I've not seen in a post-apoc before. This is disaster with no warning, something no one is prepared for. It's presented in a very plausible manner, considering that we have no first hand experience with super volcanoes (lucky for us). There is a very interesting section at the end of the book where the author discusses the present day science and past history of volcanoes. He did a lot of research, and it shows in the book.

This is book one of three, book 2 being due out this fall. The next two books will deal with the aftermath and what's left of civilization. I will be reading those as well. The first one was good enough that I want the rest of the story.

Aside from that one, I'm still looking around myself.

You're welcome. I'm currently downloading a bunch of free and near free stuff in several genres, looking for entertainment.

WOOL is unique. I am now spoiled. Sigh.

OH!! Memory lapse again. Are you interested in another indie author's work? I like Robert Brumm's writing. You can find him on Facebook and Goodreads, and he has a blog. Try this:

If you haven't read it already, give it a shot. I liked it very much, and hope he might do a sequel for it eventually.

If you want a completely different take on the zombie thing, I suggest plopping down a buck for Andrew Mayne's Public Enemy Zero. Andrew is another indie author with a few books out that've been interesting. I really liked this one as it turns the 'zombie' thing on it's head.

If'n you don't want to plop down the buck, it's fully loanable, too. Just message me and I can loan it to you.
