They’re here!

“Dusting is a good example of the futility of trying to put things right. As soon as you dust, the fact of your next dusting has already been established.”      -George Carlin

  1. No fair! Why should Hugh get first digs at reading it? He’s read it!

  2. YAY! I am so excited, I have the 17th circled on my calendar (but I’m secretly hoping that it comes sooner :D)

  3. I like the new cover but I LOVE the ugly edition.

This is an awesome day and I appreciate that you have shared this with us. We love you Hugh!

  4. I cannot wait to read this book! I have it pre-ordered on my Kindle. That’s what I will be doing all day the 17th!

  5. You are absolutely right, the UGLY one is UGLY!!! I love the pretty cover. And you are the first guy to use the kitchen knives to open tape on a box. Any man in my family would have killed me for doing that. Keep writing more Silo books and I wont hold it against you. You are my favorite author and I tell everybody about your books.

    1. You live in a strict family! :)

    2. It’s funny, because before I watched the video I saw the knife handle in the video still. I was hoping that you (Hugh) were in the kitchen and it just happened to be there, or maybe you had just sliced some eggplants or something and didn’t put it away. But no, as I feared, you used it to cut the tape on the box. After watching that, I’m still twitching like Brad Pitt in 12 Monkeys. But don’t worry, I still think you are a great author.

  6. Dear Hugh Howey,

I’m completely digital now. Please stop making me buy these books for collector purposes. (As I’m clicking on the Paypal link). :)

  7. Waiting to get paid! Having your own business sucks when you need the money to buy a SIGNED book from your favorite author!!!!

  8. Hardcovers? Can we get it in hardcover? (Besides the slipcased edition I bought from Goldsboro Books.) Is there going to be a conventional hardcover in the UK to complete my set?? Not that I’m obsessive, or anything…

    1. There will be a paper-on-board hardcover that looks like the one in the slipcase. Maybe I’ll see about commissioning a SHIFT and DUST to match the Simon & Schuster edition and have a limited number for those who like things to match. :)

  9. I have the paper on board UK Shift, so a like Dust would be great. If there were also editions of Shift and Dust to match the US WOOL, then I just won’t send my kids to college. No sweat.

  10. I am still waiting to hear that the complete set will be offered “Legacy” style complete with storage cans.

  11. Its hard but i’m restricting myself to two copies, the ugly paper back and the Goldsboro slipcased. That way I have two very different matching sets.

  12. Yeah…. really nice cover.

But hey, there is only one real cover: A-T-O-M-I-C muahahahaaaa

Looking forward to see them all on my shelf together!

I actually give a darn to covers. I can imagine and design my own one. What I am dying for is to read the book! Now it’s just 10 days…

And Hugh, the russian edition of WOOL is delayed, so I don’t know when it will come out, but I remember my promise to you, don’t worry.

  14. I haven’t written to you forever. I will never forget the excitement I felt when I read the first few pages of the first Wool book and said out loud “who in the hell is this guy”. I was so awe struck with your talent. I use to write you personal emails and you were so kind to always reply. Then you became famous with thousands of fans and I knew how very busy you were and I didn’t want to bother. Since then, there isn’t a day that I don’t see what’s going on with you via Facebook. I enjoy your postings so much.
I just want to tell you how very proud of you I am. In a way you remind me of another son I just didn’t have. Many congratulations on your completion of the final Wool book. I wish you continued success which is imminent or should I say most certainly so!
Much love and happiness to you, Amber and Bella……Janet

  15. HH,
