This is the 20th review to hit Amazon, and so far…the one that warms my heart the most. The dream, as a story-teller, is to reach a broad audience and fascinate them with your tale. To get fan fiction from a young reader one week, then delight a grandmother the next… I find it all quite humbling.
“My daughter wouldn’t stop talking about this book so I decided to give it a try. Mind you, I’m a 66-year-old grandmother that hasn’t picked up a book to read in nearly 40 years! What a great book! I just didn’t want to put it down. My husband was away on a fishing trip so I snuggled up in my chair and kept turning page after page. Several times I found myself asking, “How are they going to get out of this mess”? The action and adventure kept me hooked, but it came at such a great pace, I never felt overwhelmed, lost or confused (which is easy to do at my age). Definitely a wonderful story for all ages! Now I find myself eagerly awaiting the next book…I’ve just GOT to know what happens next! Thanks to the author for reminding me how much fun reading can be!”
I have to say, I do not think of 66 as “old.” I’m over halfway there, and I do NOT feel halfway old. Or even halfway grown-up.
