Tampa Comic Con – Day 3

This has been one of the best events ever. Another busy day today. I feel bad that I’m out of so many books (WOOL and DUST are both gone), but I’ll be happy when I’m lugging a single box back to the hotel. Thanks a ton to everyone who came out.

Next week is WorldCon in San Antonio. And next year, I’m going to do DragonCon in Atlanta, instead. I hear so many great things about that convention. It stinks that you have to pick one or the other, as they’re always on the same weekend. Helps that WorldCon will be in London next year!

After WorldCon, my next event will be in Watertown, Massachusetts. And then it’s off to Europe for two wild and crazy months!

  1. I blew my mind to meet the author of so many great books and find out he’s so down to earth and an all around gregarious person. Loved the great panel discussion about your experience with the publishing industry as well. Thanks for being willing to chat about your work and for coming to Tampa.
    Best,
    Tim

  2. It was great meeting you at Comic Con this year, hopefully you’ll make it back to Tampa again in the future! Good luck with all you travels.

  3. It was really great meeting you Hugh. I was just thinking how cool it will be to put the two remaining books on the USB drive card and have the entire WOOL saga on that great piece of memorabilia. “yes, yes I have read WOOL and I just so happened to have all nine books…in my wallet.”

    1. They’re all there already, just in the collected Omnibus forms. You’ve got WOOL 1-5, the three SHIFT books, and DUST on there!

  4. Are you going to be in San Francisco/Bay Area too? Your calendar has you there on the 9th and 10th. Would love to say hello and get a couple of books signed if you are.

    1. I’ll be filming a seminar with Tim Grahl of OutThink Group. It’s for a CreateLIVE course. Not sure if they’re letting me out of the studio at all!

  5. Sir, I look forward to you going to Dragoncon next year, just for the chance to shake your hand. On the advice of the manager of a local 2nd & Charles, I bought a copy of Wool this past Friday. I sit here at 5:31am, Monday, having finished this book. I find myself wanting more and will be making it a point today to seek out your other works in this series. You’re one helluva writer.

  6. Is Europe a holiday or promo tour.

    1. Promo tour. 7 countries in 8 weeks!
