I’m in St. Francis Bay South Africa to check in on Wayfinder. Even anticipating how it might feel, I wasn’t prepared for the emotional reaction to seeing the boat in person. It was overwhelming. The boat looks amazing, and the town of St. Francis and its environs is one of the prettiest places I’ve ever seen in my life. Truly a magical place full of special people.

After reading an ex-colleague’s sail blog for the past few years my top two priorities if I were building a boat would be 1) having proven reliable equipment installed, and 2) designing so that when that equipment failed I could get easy access to it. It seems like every other week something critical fails and is difficult to fix or replace.
